Picture of the Day for 11/8/2010. Oh look, here is a booklet outlining the STS-133 shuttle mission (the one originally scheduled to launch on November 1, 2010). And there's a picture of the STS-133 crew. Do any of these items have any meaning for me? They sure do. They represent disappointment. Failed hopes and dreams. I returned home to Salt Lake City today without having seen a space shuttle launch. Sigh.
I'm not completely defeated, however. Although I've lived for the past thirty years without the slightest motivation to see a launch, it has now become my life's mission to witness one before the program ends next year. I will NOT be thwarted.
