11/5/2010. The kick-off activity for the Astronaut Autograph & Memorabilia Show (AAMS) was a luncheon honoring the 35th anniversary of the Apollo-Soyuz Test Project (ASTP). Since I can only expect the goodwill of my non-nerdy readers to go so far, I won't launch into a detailed explanation about ASTP. (I can't resist one bit of trivia- ASTP was the very last Apollo mission.) Those hardy souls who are interested are encouraged to google the topic.
Pictured below are Tom Stafford, Vance Brand, and Jack Lousma. Stafford and Brand flew the mission (along with the deceased Deke Slayton) and Lousma served on the back-up crew. The astronauts reminisced about their experiences and then answered questions from the audience.
