Lake Okeechobee


Pictures of the Day for 6/18/2010. Spent the afternoon at Lake Okeechobee, Florida's largest fresh water lake. The photo above is of a canal leading into the eastern side of the lake. Below is an actual picture of the lake. I'll be posting better photos once my camera stops giving me attitude. Apparently, Lake Okeechobee is a popular hang-out for alligators, but since it was so blasted hot and humid, they were smart enough to stay in the lake rather than venturing out onto the banks. Consequently, I saw a few snouts poking out of the water, but not much more than that.
