Picture of the Day for 6/6/2010. This is the jungle that is my side yard. My backyard looks even worse. I guess I should do something about it. Sigh...
In the midst of all the weeds, there is some beauty as evidenced by the irises growing in the backyard. The irises used to grow profusely until my dad decided to thin them out when I was a tiny girl. Even as a 5-year-old, I recognized this was a bad plan and begged my dad to hold off. He didn't listen to me (and really, who can blame him for ignoring gardening advice from a 5-year old). He should have listened since the irises never did recover from his over-zealous pruning.
