Picture of the Day for 6/5/2012. At the Spacefest conference I attended over the weekend, there was a mock-up of an Apollo capsule hatch with a cut-out for your face so it would look like you're on the outside of the capsule looking in through the window.
Richard Hatch, the actor who played Captain Apollo in the original Battlestar Galactica television series was one of the guests in attendance signing autographs. The day before Spacefest started, some friends and I placed a photograph of Richard Hatch behind the Apollo capsule hatch and took a picture of it. We thought this was HILARIOUS. Richard Hatch who played a character named Apollo in front of an Apollo capsule hatch. Get it? Pretty funny huh?
Sorry...I know that's humor only a nerdy space fanatic would love.
I had an 8x10 copy of the photo printed out which Richard Hatch was kind enough to sign.
