Space Article

Picture of the Day for 3/10/2014. My friend Diane Stuckart sent me this October 1968 article from Newsweek that she found among her late mother's papers. I'm so glad she did! It was a lengthy piece written right before the launch of the manned Apollo missions (beginning with Apollo 7).

It was so very interesting to read something written from this perspective- before any of these missions had taken place. The author could only speculate on the crew members through Apollo 10. Neil Armstrong wasn't even on the public's radar at this point.

It was equally interesting to read this from my perspective- where all of the events are now part of a history nearly a half century old.
