Picture of the Day for 1/1/2010. This is my mother's next door neighbor and one of her best friends, Erma Todt. For years, Erma and my mother, Polly, had a tradition where they would meet on New Year's Day, visit, and exchange Christmas presents. This tradition was interrupted last year because my parents had moved into an assisted living facility in 2008 and "things" just didn't work out for the annual visit in 2009. My mother passed away in June of 2009, but I can't really say the tradition has ended since I walked across the street for a nice 2-1/2 hour visit with Erma on New Year's Day 2010. I can't replace my mother, but hopefully I was a good ambassador for her.
