Pictures of the Day for 1/16/2010.
Al and I began the day by visiting the Davies Heritage Airpark and the Blackbird Airpark (they are adjacent to each other) in Palmdale, CA. Below is a picture of Al "holding up" a B-52.
After visiting the airparks, we went to the Milestones of Flight museum located on the William J. Fox Airfield (see pictures below). To say that the museum and the resident tour guide are both a little quirky is an understatement. I think Al was in pain, but I was mostly amused by our eccentric guide.
After the museum, we drove out to the Mojave Air and Space Port (http://www.mojaveairport.com/index.html).
The sunset over the Mojave desert was beautiful.
