Pictures of the Day for 7/18/2010. This might look like an unassuming piece of ground at the base of my front stairs, but I'm thrilled with how it looks. Until Friday, this patch was filled with 6-foot tall monster weeds. The last time my sister Robynne drove my dad past the house, he was distressed to see how disreputable it looked. Robynne's husband, Will, and son, Robbie, took pity on my dad and the house and came by on Saturday morning to spruce up the place a bit. Yay! They also cleaned up the fall leaves and pine needles that had congregated against the retaining wall and had never been raked up. Yay! My house is still not the neighborhood showpiece, but at least it looks somewhat respectable now.
