Flager Museum - West Palm Beach
Picture of the Day for 11/8/2011. I toured the Flagler Museum (Whitehall) in West Palm Beach. Completed in 1902, Whitehall was built by Henry Flagler (one of the founders of Standard Oil) as a wedding present for his wife and used as a winter retreat. To call the 60,000-square-foot Gilded Age mansion opulent doesn't even begin to describe the place. The entryway alone is 4,000 square feet.
I recommend taking the virtual tours on the museum's website. In the meantime, below are just a few pictures I took.
Library
Music Room
Ballroom
Master Bedroom
Master Bathroom
Pink Room (I took this picture in honor of my pink-loving mother)
Lace Exhibit
Fan Collection
