Familiar Haunts

Picture of the Day for 5/4/2013. I used to visit this fabric store almost weekly while my dad was alive. This fabric store is right next to the little cafe, Karroo's, where I'd take my dad for lunch on Saturdays. I usually shopped there out of self-defense. My dad loved to linger over his Dr. Pepper for hours. My lingering threshold was not as highly developed as my dad's so I'd get restless. Since I didn't want to ruin his fun, I'd take a break and run over to the store. I bought a ton of fabric and patterns that I'll never use, but that's OK. It was worth giving my dad some quality lingering time. I had lunch at Karroo's today and of course I had to make a ceremonial visit to the fabric shop in honor of my dad.
