Another Day at Canyon de Chelly

Picture of the Day for 8/13/2015. We spent some more time at Canyon de Chelly. I couldn't stop taking pictures. The shifting light and shadows made each photograph come out just a little different.

Spider Rock Overlook
According to Navajo lore, Spider Woman preserved the Navajo by teaching them how to slay the monsters roaming the land when the people emerged into this world. She is also credited with teaching the Navajo how to weave. Spider Rock is her home.

White House (Anasazi Ruins) Overlook
This area has gotten a lot of rain lately. My nephew Rob was telling us that there hasn't been this much green vegetation in decades.
