Collecting Wood

Picture of the Day for January 5, 2019. I’ve inadvertently turned into a dealer- a dealer of English walnut tree wood. Whenever the big tree in my backyard drops a large limb due to wind, my nephew Rob and brother-in-law Will jump at the chance to come retrieve it. Every other year, as the family woodworkers, they get roped into making my sister Robynne’s group gifts to the family. One year they made wreaths, another year they made cutting boards, and last year they made pens- all to wild acclaim. I think this latest load of wood will help supply the project for this upcoming Christmas. I heard what the gift is most likely going to be and I can’t wait!
