Picture of the Day for 10/27/2011. Confession- I did not actually take this picture on the date indicated. That's because I got home late last night and was so eager to see the season finale of Project Runway that I totally forgot to snap a photograph for the day.
Speaking of Project Runway, you may scoff and think it's just another reality show, but it's a fascinating look at how clothes are designed and constructed.
I'm working on an exhibit critique for museum studies and the exhibit I chose is about couture from 1690-2011. you'd LOVE it. so much more than just displays of clothes, it is packed with cool historic information and makes you look at clothing in a new and better way. there's one room with vintage bodices and students from FIT had to design pieces to complete the look. not only are the clothes on display, but their design boards and sketches are as well. it's very cool. :)
