Picture of the Day for 8/8/2012. There's a wildfire burning at Camp Williams-a military installation located southwest of Salt Lake City. There's a concern the fire might spread to an area littered with unexploded shells. Eek. Fire and unexploded shells do not mix.
As you can see from the picture, the smoke from the fire is very visible in the sky. At first glance it looks like a tornado. I did a double-take when I saw the smoke. The photo doesn't do justice to the red glow emanating through the clouds. It definitely looks "biblical."
