Oldest Living Fly

Picture of the Day for 9/29/2013. A fly managed to take an advantage of an open door to slip inside my house. It's been my constant companion for nearly two weeks. What's up with this?!?! I thought flies had life spans of 3 minutes or so. Yes, I know I'm exaggerating, but I never expected this fly to hang on so tenaciously. It's also a cunning fly as it has successfully evaded the fly swatter pictured below. And I've taken after this dang fly a lot. I'm starting to wonder if the fly is going to be around for Christmas. Sigh.
