Mystery Tree

Picture of the Day for 5/11/2015. When I was taking pictures of the large pine tree in my front/side yard for a recent blog entry, I noticed there's a pretty good-sized sapling growing underneath the pine tree canopy. Hmm. Wonder how that happened and what kind of tree it is.
