Picture of the Day for 1/29/2012. I attended the opera Rigoletto today. It was a lovely production by the Utah Opera company. This was the first opera I've attended in several years. I'm not sure how I got out of the habit since I love opera. I kind of had no choice given my upbringing. When I was a little girl, my dad would spend every Saturday afternoon working on finishing the basement. As he worked, he would listen to the Metropolitan Opera on the radio. At first, this sent me scurrying to the far corners of the house to avoid the "noise," but by the time our family started attending live opera when I was a teenager, I had become a fan.
